Byron Yoga Centre’s teacher training is coming to Melbourne in May! Book now to learn with John Ogilvie (pictured) and staff to gain your Yoga-Alliance recognised certification.

 

Starting in May, we are delighted to host Byron Yoga Centre’s Level 1 and 2 teacher training, developed by long-time Yoga Practitioner John Ogilvie.

Both part-time courses comprise 6 weekends over 5 months, with Level 1 beginning Saturday May 6 2017. Level 2 teacher training starts later in the year on Saturday 11 November. Both courses are Yoga Alliance accredited.

Byron Yoga Centre Founder John Ogilvie developed Purna Yoga, which combines his 30-plus years’ experience with the different styles of Ashtanga and Iyengar. This classical alignment-focused hatha yoga is accessible and comprehensive, making it suitable for teaching beginners through to more experienced students.

Purna, meaning integrated or complete, represents a holistic approach to yoga – integrating the physical postures with philosophy, meditation and pranayama.

Byron Yoga Centre’s part-time non-residential Melbourne Teacher Training Course is a complete experience with 6 weekends over 5 months.

  • Sequencing for classes and private students

The Byron Yoga Centre Level 2 Part Time Teacher Training Course is designed to deliver our characteristic holistic approach to training that encompasses the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the yogic path. Guided by our knowledgeable and friendly teaching staff, in this comprehensive course, we’ll be covering the following areas:

  • Level 2 Asana techniques, alignment, modifications and variations
  • Teaching Methodology for intermediate yoga classes
  • In depth adjusting and correcting students
  • Advanced Sequencing for classes and private students
  • Level 2 Applied Anatomy and Physiology
  • Level 2 Yoga Philosophy, focus on Yoga Sutras
  • Learn to teach pranayama and meditation
  • Ayurveda, yogic health and lifestyle tools
  • Refining your teaching skills with ‘real life’ practice teaching opportunities from day 1
