We have taken the very unusual step of cancelling some classes in the short term as one of our teachers – Amanda – is currently unable to teach due to an injury.
Amanda is now recuperating at home under the care of friends, after she fell and broke her hip. Unfortunately it will be some time before Amanda comes back to the Centre to teach.
We have had to cancel some classes temporarily as follows:
Cancelled Classes Until Further Notice
Tues Intro 1 @ 6:30 am Thurs Intro 1 @ 6:30 am Sat Led @ 9:30 am Sun Intro drop in @ 9:30 am
Amanda leaves a big hole at our Centre as she is much loved and respected, and is involved with day-to-day running of the Centre as well as teaching. Thankfully in her absence, others have come forward to help the Centre run smoothly while she is away.
To many, Amanda is our Centre’s stalwart matriarch, gracing it with her lovely, steady, approachable and knowledgable presence.
Amanda started her Yoga practice over 33 years ago when she worked with Guruji Iyengar. In the late 1990s Amanda met Grandfather of Ashtanga Yoga Guruji Pattabhi Jois, in New Zealand. She subsequently travelled to Mysore to study under Guruji – so Amanda has a huge treasure of knowledge and experience to pass on to her students.
Amanda has the longest association with the Centre of all our teachers, having joined us over 13 years ago. She has introduced countless students to Ashtanga Yoga through our Centre’s Intro courses, which run over five weeks several times a year.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. More details to come soon.
